Every believer, at some point, experiences a season when God feels distant or silent. These times can be confusing and even unsettling. Yet, the Bible is filled with examples of individuals who encountered the silence of God and learned to walk by faith and not by sight. This teaching explores what it means to trust God when He seems silent and how to continue walking in faith during these times.
Unfortunately, in today’s world, many leaders especially among believers—have shifted from service to authority, placing more emphasis on power than on people. Pride, however, is subtle. It often appears like a dim light—barely noticeable to the one who carries it, yet clearly visible to others. Scripture reminds us that pride is the beginning of a fall. It creeps in quietly, but its effects are destructive.
As a leader, humility must be your foundation. You must constantly remember that it is God who raises one up and brings another down; leadership is not earned solely by personal merit but granted by divine grace. Furthermore, leadership is not confined to titles or positions. This raises an important question: How can one lead without pride?
.First, rely completely on God, acknowledging that every success you experience comes from Him. Second, treat everyone with respect—never look down on fellow leaders or those you lead. Third, avoid the mindset that nothing can function without you; the truth is, God’s work continues with or without any individual. Fourth, remain grounded in the Word of God through consistent study, meditation, and prayer.
Finally, make self-examination a daily practice, allowing the Holy Spirit to reveal and correct any traces of pride
within you. It is important to understand that pride is not only expressed through words. It reveals itself in attitudes, reactions, actions, and even subtle behaviors. When you feel superior to others, resist correction, refuse to serve, or desire recognition and admiration from people, these are clear indicators of pride at work.Pride is dangerous. It is a spiritual virus that kills the spirit, damages the soul, and ultimately leaves a person empty.
True leadership is not about being seen above others, but about lifting others up. To lead effectively and in alignment with God’s will, one must continually choose the path of humility.
