“I BELIEVE” Movie review
“I BELIEVE” is a breathtaking Christian film starring Rowan Smyth as Brian Webber, directed by both Stacy and Juergen Peretzki. Juergen Peretzki is also one of the writers of this movie as well. The movie was released 7th November, 2017.
The movie’s storyline revolves around drama, family, and fantasy themes. One aspect I particularly appreciate is how the film commences with a voiceover, quoting scripture accompanied by a piano melody. This introduction sets the tone for a faithbased movie experience. The protagonist of the film is nine-year-old Brian (Rowan Smyth), who finds inspiration in the first scripture he encounters on the local church wall. Intrigued by his initial encounter with God, Brian’s curiosity
prompt him to seek a deeper understanding of Christianity. However, his parents, particularly his father Simon (Matt Lindguist), a TV broadcaster and atheist, do not share his enthusiasm.Driven by curiosity, Brian enters the church and meets the local pastor (Wilford Brimley) and a wounded U.S. Marine (Jeremy London). Brian’s pure, sweet, and innocent faith catalyzes the manifestation of God’s supernatural power, which eventually becomes headlineworthy Breaking News. What draws me to this film is the remarkable performance of the main cast, a nineyear-old boy who performs miracles. His portrayal surpasses his age, and his eloquence captivates me, leaving me eager to see more of him. Furthermore, the miracles depicted serve as a poignant reminder that God’s miraculous interventions endure The theme song, “I Believe,” was co-written by David Outten and Juergen Peretzki. It’s performed by Stacey Peretzki and Micah Luna, adding an emotive musical dimension to the movie.
